Prices shown are for a 5-ton order delivered to Roy 84067, including material, haul, and sales tax. Delivery is charged per truckload, so the per-ton cost drops on larger orders and rises on smaller ones. Enter your address for a price on your exact quantity.
Measure the area you're covering and our calculator converts it to tons using the real density of the material you pick — gravel weighs considerably more per yard than mulch, so the same project needs a different tonnage depending on what's going down.
Open the coverage calculator →Roy is flat, which makes almost every job here easier. No slope means material stays where you put it, the truck can usually get close to where it needs to go, and you are not fighting gravity while you spread. Side yard parking pads are the most common thing we deliver for, and on level ground they are about as straightforward as this work gets.
With Hill Air Force Base right there, a lot of households here are on a clock — a few years in a place, then orders somewhere else. That changes the calculus on landscaping. Gravel parking and rock conversions do well in that situation because they go in over a weekend, they hold up without watering or mowing, and they still look intentional to the next buyer. Anything that needs three seasons to establish is a harder sell when you may not be here for three seasons.
For a standard vehicle pad, 4 inches of road base compacted is the specification to work from. A 10 by 30 strip runs about 5 tons; a 12 by 40 pad sized for a trailer runs closer to 8. The calculator will size your exact dimensions, and the price above already includes the haul to Roy.
Delivered pricing depends on the material and how many tons you order, since delivery is charged per truckload rather than per ton. A 5-ton order of road base delivered to Roy runs the amount shown in the table above, with material, haul, and sales tax included. Enter your address on our quote form for a price on your exact order.
It depends on the truck serving your area, but most loads top out around 15 tons. Orders larger than that take multiple trips, and delivery is priced per trip — which is why a 20-ton order costs more per ton to deliver than a 15-ton one.
It varies by material, because density varies. As a rough guide, one ton of road base covers about 80 square feet at 3 inches deep. Mulch is much lighter and covers considerably more. Our calculator does the conversion using the real density of whatever you pick.
Road base is crushed rock mixed with fines that lock together and compact into a hard surface — it is what you want under a driveway, shed pad, or paver project. Decorative gravel and landscape rock are washed and uniform, so they stay loose. Loose rock looks better; road base holds up under weight.
Deliveries run weekdays. Most yards are closed on weekends, and orders need at least two business days notice so the yard can schedule the load.
